Passionate Photographer
I've always had a love for photography. My Pampaw (grandpa, mom's dad) is a family documentor, he has a collection of old cameras, some over 100 years old, and he still knows how to use every one of them. He's always developed his own film, recorded every package opened at every Christmas gathering, and even taught Meemaw (grandma) how to use the camera so she could take a picture of the house while he flew the two of them in a plane overhead. My Grandma Schubert was the family historian. Every visit she brought a different photo album and showed me each family member, past and present, and told me about their lives. I will always treasure the time spent with my grandparents looking through photos and reliving memories. Photography is an art that transcends time and space. I know its up to me now to be my family's historian and I'm beyond grateful for the honor.
Featured below are a handful of photos I've taken outside of work for school, for friends, for family, and for fun.
Visual Storyteller
I studied Visual Storytelling and Broadcast Journalism in school and the videos featured below were submitted as assignments, for competitions, for internships, or just for fun.
I produced "Welcome Back To Mote Aquarium" during 2020 just before the aquarium reopened after being closed during the pandemic.
"Study Abroad 2018 South Africa & Namibia" is a video I made detailing my experience in South Africa and Namibia and features footage I took during the trip. I submitted this video in a competition at my school and won the grand prize, and now this video is used by two universities to promote the program.
"Nopal Cultural & The Eiteljorg Museum Present: El Dia De Los Muertos" was one of the first video projects I ever did for my school. My technical skills, production knowledge, and talents have come a long way since then.
